It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Big Guava has some excellent seafood joints. Our list of the best seafood places in Tampa includes Oystercatchers, Mitchell’s Fish Market and Catch Twenty-Three.

Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay
2900 Bayport Dr
Tampa, FL 33607

Beautiful fish served up in a beautiful setting with beautiful views of Tampa Bay. If the mosquitos are taking the evening off and it’s not too muggy, try dining outdoors to better take in the spectacular sunset. As far as the food goes, you’ll find it expertly prepared and fresh, fresh, fresh. The grouper is recommended.

Mitchell’s Fish Market

204 WestShore Plz
Tampa, FL 33689

With more than 80 seafood options on their menu (which is printed twice a day), there’s plenty to choose from. Their cedar plank preparations are recommended. The relaxed ambience, live piano music all add to the experience. It is a chain restaurant, so ordinarily it wouldn’t make the cut for us, but for every rule, there’s an exception. This is one of ours.

Catch Twenty Three

10103 Montague St
Tampa, FL 33626

Take in a bit of islands as you relax and enjoy yourself at this restaurant, with its menu featuring Latin and Caribbean-influenced food. They tout the preparation of their fish: a brushing of olive oil, key lime juice cooked on a pecan wood grill. Sauce can then be applied. While we like the surf at this place, turf-heads won’t be disappointed with their steaks or meats either.
