Pebble Creek Golf Club has quite a layout and beautiful scenery. The 18-hole, par-71Championship course offers challenging play for the golfing enthusiast. There are several teeing grounds for players of all skill levels, an 8-acre practice facility and putting green, and PGA pros provide group and individual lessons ($119 for a 6-week course). Daily rates from November to January for non-members range from $22 – $34 per person, plus tax for 18-hole play (cart included). Babe Zaharias Golf Course

The Babe Zaharias Golf Course has quite a history, as its named after Mildred Ella Didrikson, an avid amateur golfer and one of the first four inductees into the LPGA Hall of Fame. The course is only about 6,200 yards, both both nines are par-35 and can be quite a challenge for golfers of various levels. The golf course winds its way through a tree-lined residential neighborhood and roads on both sides of the fairway. Regular rates for non-members currently range from $17 – $39 (walk or ride). Golf lessons are available for all skill levels and include private and group instruction.

The Claw @ USF

The Claw at the University of South Florida is a fun challenge, thanks to its long, tight fairways and the formidable trees that line them. It’s also not unusual for golfers to spy alligators, deer and other wildlife while making their way through the course. There are four different tees all at par-71 with the maximum of 6,863 yards (Dark Green tee). Rates range from $22 – $44 with cart included (walking rate is $20 after 11 a.m. everyday). Westchase Golf Club

The Westchase Golf Club’s proximity to the Tampa International Airport a boon for travelers visiting Tampa for pleasure or business but are budgeted for time. The par -72 course is 6,710 yards and winds through natural wetlands, bridges and bulkheads. The Westchase Golf Club is lauded for its play-friendly and scenically-appealing course. Rates currently range from $18 – $65 from November – January, and $25 – $94 from late January to April (cart included).
