2-Alarm Residential Fire In Valrico Area, 1 Firefighter InjuredHillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a residential fire of a large 2-story in the Valrico area late this afternoon. Firefighters arrived on the scene in the 3300 block of Little Rd. just before 4pm to find flames shooting through the roof of the more than 5,000 square foot structure.
BREAKING: Apartment Building Fire Witnesses: 2 Men Assisted Evacuations, Likely Preventing InjuriesFirefighters found the wooden staircase leading to the east side upper unit fully involved and ineffectual so they had to enter via ladder through the second story window of the unit to fight the fire. Aerial units were also set up to fight the fire. All residents were able to safely evacuate. According to witnesses at the scene, two men assisted in evacuating the residents prior to Tampa Fire Rescue's arrival likely preventing further and more severe injuries.
