DeLAND, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A woman has been arrested after police say she stole over $300 worth of meat and other items by putting it down her pants.
Volusia County deputies say store employees saw 46-year-old Doris Rowe take two packages of pork ribs, five ribeye steaks, six pounds of ground beef, and four packages of bacon. The other items included bleach and Brita tap filters.
According to the police report obtained by WKMG, the employees asked Rowe to put the items back but she refused and hit one worker in the neck while trying to escape.
Police pulled over Rowe about 15-minutes later. She was a passenger in the getaway vehicle driven by 54-year-old Kenneth Edwards.
Rowe was charged with strong-arm robbery and grand theft. Edwards was charged with principal to strong-arm robbery and retail theft.
Both were booked into the Volusia County Jail.
