Lightning beat writer for The Tampa Tribune Erik Erlendsson joined the Booger and Ryan Show to discuss the Lightning’s recent hotstreak.

Erlendsson said that he thinks the Bolts are winning games because they are so deep and so talented that they don’t have to rely on Ben Bishop or Steven Stamkos every night.

Erlednsson said that right now he doesn’t think we’ve seen the best from Jonathan Drouin yet. The Lightning are taking their time to develop him and that’s been their MO the last few years. He expects bigger and better things from him even though he’s had a solid start to his NHL career.

The Lightning are tied for the best record in the NHL but Erlendsson says this was to be expected and this team hasn’t even played up to its potential so far.

If there is a weakness on this team, Erlendsson said the loss of Victor Hedman is catching up to this team.
