ESPN CFB insider Brett McMurphy joined the Booger and Ryan Show to discuss the future of Will Muschamp.

McMurphy dished on whether or not Muschamp will keep his job.

“He has to go 5-0 for that to happen,” McMurphy told Booger and Marc. “Unfortunately I don’t think that’s going to happen. I don’t think he’ll be the Gators head coach next season.”

So who’s on the Gators short list? McMurphy says look at established offensive head coaches.

“I think two names you would have to look at, I think that they would be home run hires, if he could get Hugh Freeze out of Ole Miss or Rich Rod from Arizona.”

McMurphy also said he as to put a call in to Oklahoma, even though it’s unlikely that he’ll leave the Sooners.

Despite rumors, McMurphy said Dan Mullen isn’t Foley’s likely target.

“From everything I’ve been told, from people close to the program, Mullen’s name got mentioned as a candidate for Florida when they hired Will Muschamp. From what I was told Florida was never interested in Mullen,” McMurphy said. “I don’t think Florida would go after Mullen.”
