Outfielder Kevin Kiermaier is one of the only guys hitting for the 2014 Rays team and he joined Booger and Marc to discuss his hot streak and the recent criticisms of hitting coach Derek Shelton.

The Rays have been slumping in the batter’s box lately (to say the least) and Kiermaier admitted that hitting is contagious amongst the team. The issue is, not everyone has created that contagious environment. He did say that he still thinks the team will get back on track and so far everyone is staying positive.

Rays hitting coach Derek Shelton is under fire but Kiermaier said he really likes him. Kiermaier said Shelton is doing everything he can to help his hitters and it’s not on him at all, it’s on the players.

When there are runners in scoring position, Kiermaier says the Rays offense seems to hit line drives right at players and just can’t get that clutch hit. It’s been the story of the season.
