Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune joined Fan Interference to give us the latest on the Bucs and what they have done to this point in free agency. Roy said that in his years of covering the team, he has never seen a Bucs team this active in free agency and that they are working to shape this team in the image of what Lovie Smith wants to do.
The future of Darrelle Revis at the moment is still up in the air and Roy said that the team more than likely will be releasing him by this afternoon after not being able to find a trade that they see fit for their team. Part of the issue according to Roy is that Revis (which is his right) has decided that he is not interested in restructuring his deal, and believes that he can find similar money on the open market.
One of the guys who was reported as being an option for the Bucs in the secondary is Charles Tillman and what role he can play with this team. In his 12th year, Tillman may not be a guy who can play every down, but Roy believes that he will be brought in almost as a Hardy Nickerson to help mentor the young corners in the Bucs secondary.
