With the recent story of Richie Incognito allegedly bullying his teammate, Johnathan Martin, other doors might have been opened for stories of other bullying with other teams.
Former Buccaneers Keyshawn Johnson and Chidi Ahanotu both joined a San Francisco radio station and explained how Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was a bully in the Bucs locker room.
Ahanotu went into detail on his facebook page:
“Ring Of Honor Truth Moment: ~Richie Incognito tormenting & bullying of his teammate reminds me of what our own beloved Warren Sapp did to his teammates & the staff at Buccaneers. Tyoka Jackson, Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson, Marcus Jones & Chidi Ahanotu all confronted Sapp & had physical altercations of varying degrees with Sapp. Virtually Nothing was off limits to Sapp’s verbal attacks & belittling of his teammates & front office staff.”
While many Bucs fans have heard the stories of Sapp’s poor treatment of fans and media in the past, this was the first accusation of Sapp as a bully to teammates.
The recent multiple stories surrounding Dolphins OG Richie Incognito have placed such a negative light on him, that something similar could fall on Warren Sapp as he prepares to be entered into the Bucs Ring of Honor on Monday.
“Chidi Ahanotu is a bold face liar and Keyshawn Johnson is a bold face liar,” former Buccaneer Booger McFarland said on the Booger and Rich Show Thursday afternoon on 98.7 The Fan.
McFarland said that the Bucs drafted him out of college in the 1st round to replace Warren Sapp. If Sapp was going to bully anyone in that locker room, it had to be the player who was supposed to replace him. Booger said that Sapp “embraced him with open arms.”
“Because Chidi Ahanotu had an axe to grind, he called Warren Sapp a bully,” Booger continued on 98.7 The Fan.
Booger McFarland will most likely be just the first of many former Buccaneers to come out in support of Warren Sapp in this issue.
Both Keyshawn Johnson and Chidi Ahanotu had personal issues with Sapp while with the Buccaneers, and 14 years after this incident took place, they both still hold enough of a grudge to bring it to light today.
Unfortunately for Sapp and the Bucs, Johnson will be on ESPN’s pregame show for Monday Night Football and bring this out to the nation.
Shame on both of them, if they are lying, for trying to ruin Warren Sapp’s induction into the Bucs Ring of Honor on Monday night.
UPDATE: Former Bucs DE Steve White and current Sunday host for 98.7 The Fan also reacted by focusing on Keyshawn Johnson saying, “He’s a damn liar.”
“Chidi became the guy who he himself hated most,” White continued on 98.7 The Fan. “Chidi got the big contract and quit working.”
