Sean Paul has been busy promoting his latest album Tomahawk Technique overseas and has been a little behind on new music. During an interview with 101.5 JAMZ/Phoenix he admitted he didn’t know who Psy was.

“That dude is funny as heck. I didn’t know about this dude and my cousin was like, ‘What do you think about this dude?'” Sean Paul recalled. “I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah he was on the MTV Awards.'”

Once he watched Psy’s “Gangnam Style” he was speechless.

“Then I checked him out and was like, ‘No way. This dude is nuts!’ It sounds like he’s saying ‘Open Condom Star,” he said. “I don’t know if that’s the reason everybody likes it. It’s crazy. It’s a banging beat. It almost sounds Jamaican.”

With his own single going to No. 1 in Switzerland, Sean Paul had nothing but praise for his new album Tomahawk Technique.

“I think it’s the cutting edge. If you’re listening close you might bleed it’s that sharp,” he joked. “It’s good stuff.”

Having traveled to France, Germany, Spain and Japan to promote his release Sean revealed he also has his hand in producing music.

“I’m producing now. I produced one track on this album it’s called ‘Roll wid di Don,'” he said. “That’s what I’m concentrating on. This album I was working on all last summer and I finished late November last year and then I was ready to go. It’s taken a whole year. [It’s all] music for me.”
