Everyone has heard an abundance of jokes and/or stories about the rigors of marriage, but who knew there were still more tales to tell? James Braly is a one-man storytelling extravaganza as he takes the audience on an odyssey about his personal experiences in married life. His tour has been selling out and continues to receive lauds from all the nation’s top critics. The Capitol Theatre has an historic vibe to it and will remind one of the old school playhouses from the early 20th century.  A perfect setting for Braly’s show.

If you live in Tampa Bay, chances are you have been, or at least heard of, one of the choice comedy clubs in the area. The Tampa Improv consistently brings in notable stand-up comics and provide a forum for up-and-comers. Jim Florentine has been seen all over television and his no-holds barred brand of jokes usually leads to a rowdy night of fun. Even if you have seen him before, he is constantly writing new material.  And he thoroughly enjoys chatting with the audience during his performances.

This joint is another classic comedy lounge where all the big names have, and will, drop in.  Highlighting the docket in the spring is Tim Meadows.  Meadows has appeared in many feature films such as “The Ladies Man” and most recently, “Aliens in the Attic.” He also has recurring roles on many hit network comedy shows. Like most comedy clubs in the area, one will be able to order some grub prior to the show – so you don’t choke on your chicken tenders while laughing – and enjoy another intimate type setting with a comedic pro such as Meadows.

The club just over the Courtney Campbell bridge has carried on the long tradition set forth by Tampa’s first ever laugh factory, Coconuts Comedy Club. With an emphasis of promoting local talent, Steve Baird is one of those said talents that can be described as the working-class comic. You know, people that have been on the road for years building a solid reputation, all while playing every major and modest club throughout the states. Baird’s casual delivery has enabled him to become a regular fixture at clubs all over the area. His candid approach and relate-able topics he brings up will keep a consistent smile on your face.
