Watch The George Zimmerman Trial

George Zimmerman is on trial for his role in the shooting death of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin in February of 2012. Zimmerman was a part of a neighborhood watch program and in this role, he was patrolling the complex where he found and confronted Martin.

What happened after that confrontation is at the center of the trial. The defense claims that Zimmerman acted in self-defense after being attacked by Martin, while prosecutors claim Zimmerman initiated the contact and confronted the teen despite being warned not to do so by a police dispatcher. The state claims Zimmerman then used the loaded gun he was carrying to shoot Martin.
