This year UCF (9-4) will make the 100-mile trek west from Orlando to St. Petersburg to face the Ball State Cardinals, who will take a six-game winning streak in the Dec. 21 match-up at Tropicana Field for the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl. Beef ‘O’ Brady’s is an up-and-coming, family-oriented sports bar based in the Tampa Bay area. Combining this establishment with an up-and-coming college bowl game seems like a natural connection. Not to be confused with the more established Outback Bowl, which is played in Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium later in the bowl season, the Beef ‘O’Brady’s bowl takes place on December 21st in the first week of the bowl season. The game is designed to match teams from the Big East Conference and Conference USA. If those conferences can’t send a team, teams from the Sun Belt and/or Mid-American Conference can be chosen.

Getting There

Tropicana Field is one of the most recognizable landmarks in St. Petersburg. Coming south from Tampa or north from Bradenton and Sarasota, the Trop has easy access from Interstate-275. Simply take the I-175 exit and follow the signs to the stadium. There’s parking on the premises for $20 and plenty of places in surrounding areas to park for various prices. While it was built to accommodate baseball, the Trop makes an intimate football venue with seating for about 34,000 fans. Tickets start at $35 at Ticketmaster. The Miller Lite Party Deck seats, located directly behind the team bench, include food, beer, wine and mixed drinks for $200.
