With spring just around the corner (March 20), it is time to get ready for weddings, proms or just an everyday fun look. But with style trends constantly changing, it’s hard to know how to get that desired look. Tampa Bay makeup artist Christy McDonie has some great tips to help you look your best in 2013.
Below are some of the upcoming trends of 2013 followed by tips on how to make them come to life.
- Strong Brows
- Bold Eyeliners
- Vibrant Saturated Colors
- Pop of Color on Eyes or Lips
Spring Tips to Get “The Look”
Waterproof Mascara: “During Tampa Bay’s usual warm spring and summer months, waterproof mascara is great to help keep it from running.” Waterproof mascara allows ladies to have a day full of fun in the sun without worrying about reapplying.
Use Primers: “This year, primer for skin and eye shadow is a must. Skin primers help smooth out the surface of the skin to hold your foundation. Eye shadow primers help keep shadows from fading and/or creasing throughout the day to keep that fresh look.”
Use a Highlighter: “2013 is all about fresh, radiant, glowing skins, and highlighting is a must. Powder and cream highlighters both work great. Tap on the high of the cheekbones to help accentuate the cheeks.”
Bold Eyeliners: “A pop of color is definitely in for 2013. Bright colors like magenta purple and/or green are both in this spring.” While the fashion runways are influencing bright colors this spring, why not let your makeup do the same thing. Let your eyes be your palette and show your fun side.
Get That Bold Brow: “This highly popular trend will be sticking around for 2013. Use a powdered shadow for sculpting the brows with a short, dense angle brush; it will look more natural than using a brow pencil.”
Get That Flawless Finish: “Last spring, artists seemed to use the fewest amount of products necessary to create a ‘natural look,’ but this season is going to be all about a flawless finish using vibrant, saturated colors.”
