There are several breweries and microbreweries in our Tampa Bay area. These local spots make great beer and always have new things to try. Some of these spots also make wonderful seasonal brews that you can only get certain times of the year. If liquor is more to your liking, Tampa Bay has that too with The Florida Distillery. Get out and enjoy a local libation at any of these spots serving up the Bay area’s finest.

At Dunedin Brewery, every Sunday is happy hour all day long. Dunedin Brewery is the oldest microbrewery in the state of Florida. This spot is a local favorite that has many loyal customers who return time and time again for the great ales served up by the dedicated and friendly staff. At Dunedin Brewery, every Wednesday is open mic night where you can get on stage and make yourself a star. If you don’t want to perform, you can sit and listen to the best local talent jam.

At this local hot spot, you can have your own personal mug with wall space if you join the mug club. The Tampa Bay Brewing Company always has nine local beers on tap. All of the local brews are handcrafted and something new is always brewing. It has pretty good food to pair and also offers call-ahead seating. Tampa Bay Brewing makes a seasonal beer in October that tastes just like pumpkins. But it sells out quickly so move fast if this is your kind of brew.

Cigar City Brewing has opened a restaurant on the other side of its tasting room. The restaurant is as unique as the beer, serving up such dishes as swordfish tacos and cocktails named for infamous Tampa characters. Cigar City Brewing has raised the bar in the area of pub food in Tampa Bay. This spot offers unique flavors in local beers as well as top-quality food that is a step above the normal pub fare.

This new distillery was started in 2012 by three entrepreneurs: a dreamer, a believer and a distiller. This company has a great concept where it is making flavored vodka that is unique and has a fresh prospective in that it only uses fruit from local growing farmers. An example of this would be the fact that the strawberry vodka is made from Plant City strwberries and is called Plant City Strawberry. The other unique flavors you can get are Buccaneer Blueberry, Gator Grape and Orlando Orange.

The Cold Storage Craft Brewery was created to make drinkable craft beers that would be refreshing in the Florida climate. Its first three brews won awards for 2013. These same three beers are known for being crisp, clean and very refreshing. Go to Cold Storage Craft Brewery at your earliest convenience and try a Florida Avenue Ale, Florida Avenue Blueberry or Florida Avenue India Pale Ale. This establishment also has a tasting room and offers tours.
