Best Activities To Celebrate Father’s Day In Tampa Bay

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 15, 2014. Museums, restaurants, zoos and parks all offer something special for dads on this special day. Spend some quality time with dad this Father’s Day by visiting any or all of the five places listed in this article. Celebrate the day with the family by going for a nice stroll, taking part in a 5K walk or run or going to the museum.

This family-friendly event is a great way for the family to spend Father’s Day together. Children ages seven and under are free and strollers are welcome. Registration for children ages eight to 14 is only $20 while adult registration on race day is $40. Only 500 registration spots are available so register early. Run or walk at your own pace at this Great Father’s Day Race as this activity’s main focus is on health and wellness for the entire family.

Spend Father’s Day with dad at Stu’s Annual Father Daughter Dance. Daughters must be between six and 18 years old and must be accompanied by their father. Fathers may bring more than one daughter. Wear your best formal wear as photos will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to benefit the ‘I Care About Me Foundation.’ Tickets ($30) will not be available at the door and seating is limited.

Richard’s Father’s Day Family Walk/Run takes place on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Ulele Restaurant. This is a family-friendly event so bring the entire family and enjoy a relaxing stroll down the streets surrounding the restaurant. More energetic registrants may jog through the streets with Boston marathon champion Bill Rodgers, who will be the guest of honor at the event. Athletic runners can take the entire 5K jog through Historic Tampa Heights or the one-mile walk. Registration fees are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event.

Glazer Children’s Museum is once again offering free admission to any father when accompanied by his child. In addition to visiting the Play and Discover area, visitors can enjoy Road Trip USA, the newest temporary installation to the museum. Road Trip USA will only be available for viewing from June 7 to August 10, 2014. Visit national parks, roadside attractions and Mount Rushmore and learn about the interstate system, Roswell Invasion and Area 51. This is a great place for fathers and their children to relax and enjoy quality time together on Father’s Day.
