Buccaneers special teams coordinator Kevin O’Dea’s philosophy will be based on physical and mental toughness, and giving max effort until the whistle blows. Special teams is the most overlooked element of football. It has potential for game changing plays, and the Bucs will need game changers in this area. And with veteran leaders Adam Hayward and Dekoda Watson now elsewhere, Tampa Bay will need new leaders to step in and fill the void.

Every cornerback on the roster is under 30 years of age. In the past couple seasons we’ve seen Ronde Barber retire, Eric Wright waste chances, and Darrelle Revis on loan. There hasn’t been a sense of stability at this position for some time. Now with Alterraun Verner locking up a 4-year deal, that could change quickly. And if the younger, less experienced corners are brought along the right way, this could be the most opportunistic Bucs secondary in years.
