CBS Sports Hockey writer Brian Stubits is reporting that Tampa Bay Lightning captain Martin St Louis has been selected to replace his fellow Canadian and Lightning teammate Steven Stamkos on Canada’s National Hockey Team as they depart to participate in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
In a release to the media and on the team’s Official Public Relations Tumblr blog, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced that Steven Stamkos has not been cleared to play for Team Canada in the 2014 Winter Olympics, and, in fact, should not be participating in any game activity for some time to come.
