The Rays have sold out their eighth-consecutive opening day, so if you don’t have a ticket you’re out of luck for seeing the game from inside the Tropicana Field. Even without a ticket – enough is going on around the Trop to keep you in that party mode before, during, and after the game.
College football bowl season seems to start a little earlier and run a little longer each year. College bowl games are a chance for fans and players to enjoy one last hurrah for a successful season. It also gives coaches a chance to lay the foundation for the next season with 10 to 15 extra practices. One of the newer bowls on the scene is the Beef ‘O’Brady’s Bowl, played in St. Petersburg’s Tropicana Field.
There’s nothing that beats the pleasures of Florida living like enjoying a boat parade in sports shirts, shorts and flip-flops while the rest of the nation is just digging in for a long, cold winter. Two of the biggest and best boat parades in the Tampa Bay area are set for December 8 and are only a few miles apart with one in St. Petersburg and another at the beach community of Treasure Island.
