Jim Lighthall is a co-host on 98.7 The Fan’s Fan Interference Show along with Justin Pawlowski.
He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1990 and began working in the Tampa Bay radio market in 1987.
Jim has worked on Tampa Bay Lightning Radio Network and covered the NFL for ESPN Radio. His radio career has led him to work on the USF Football Radio Network since it’s inception in 1997. He has also, worked the last 17 years on the USF Basketball Radio Network, including the past 7 seasons doing play-by-play.
On his time off the radio waves you can find Jim playing golf, basketball and even alpine mountain climbing. His down time is spend with his wife, Susan and his two children, Emily and Jake.

There are days where we at Fan Interference have a very good idea of where we are going to take things during our show. Whether it is a specific topic, or a kind of show we want to have for that day, generally we know going in what we are going to try and do for 3 hours. Than there are days like today where we are hit with a pleasant surprise that none of us saw coming.
Jim Lighthall is a simple man who enjoys simple pleasures. He loves golf, his family, USF athletics, soda, and pool. Not necessarily in that order. One of the things that Jim also loves is the hot mustard sauce from McDonalds. Earlier this year, the sauce was taken away from the condiment selection to make way for new sauces to spice things up. Unfortunately, hot mustard was sacrificed, breaking Jim’s heart.
