Gwen Ifill, a groundbreaking journalist who covered the White House, Congress and national campaigns over three decades for The Washington Post, The New York Times, NBC and, most prominently, PBS, died on Monday at a hospice in Washington. She was 61.

She worked in some the best news rooms in the country and changed the look of the news room. She was on of the first members of an all female news team on PBS’s News Hour. Don Lemon gave a heartfelt goodbye on CNN last night (above). Read more about the life of Gwen Ifill
