Chance the Rapper Lead Voters to the Polls After Free Concert in Chicago

So you go to a free concert by your favorite rapper, and then he leaves the venue to walk everyone to the polls. Epic right?

Chicago rap star Chance the Rapper led hundreds of crowd members from a free concert to an early voting location in the city on the night before Election Day, in an effort dubbed “Parade to the Polls” that was captured and shared on social media. The original concert was only meant to have about 700 people, but the crowd grew to the thousands and the show was moved to a different location. They used the hashtags #paradetothepolls and #staywokeandVote.

 

According to CNN affiliate ABC 7 Chicago, Cook County officials reported that early voting numbers so far had broken 2008 records, registering a 24 percent increase from that year. Read more
