Troopers: Car Hits, Kills Man in Wheelchair Near Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Highway Patrol says a man in a wheelchair died after being hit by a car near Orlando.

The crash happened early Thursday along the Orange Blossom Trail south of Orlando.

According to an incident report, the man was trying to cross the road in a marked crosswalk around 5:12 a.m. Witnesses told troopers the driver had the green light and traveled into the intersection. The man, whose name hasn’t been released, was ejected from his wheelchair.

The crash remains under investigation.
