Anchor Slip Up Goes Viral: “Check your Panties”

Eric Philips, an anchor at NBC 12 in Richmond, Virginia, made the embarrassing mistake live on air before bursting into laughter after noticing his blunder.

Philips was introducing a segment on the recall of a brand of rice and slow cookers in America. It was like watching a scene from Anchorman! The phrase was meant to be “Check your pantries,” in regards to the food recall. The crew on set had a big laugh and now the clip has gone viral. Now we know what a simple mistake, like a removing an “R” from a script, can do to a newscast. The internet is having fun with this one.
