Gas Line Rupture Shuts Down I-4 in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Central Florida authorities are warning drivers to stay away from a stretch of Interstate 4 in the tourist district.

Orlando police officials say eastbound Interstate 4 was shut down Friday afternoon from Conroy Road to International Drive because of a gas leak.

Orlando fire officials say a 4-inch gas line was ruptured, and the gas company has been notified.

The closure comes at the start of the busy rush hour on the main roadway that cuts through metro Orlando.
