Deputies: Man Shot Dead While Trying To Escape Home Invasion

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a man was shot dead while he was trying to escape a home invasion in Orlando.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Rose Silva said in a statement that four men barged inside a home early Thursday while 45-year-old Christopher Perkins and several others were inside.

Deputies say the men demanded their belongings and shot Perkins multiple times as he tried to escape. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

No further details were immediately available.
