11 Ducklings Rescued from New Smyrna Beach Storm Drain

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — New Smyrna Beach firefighters have rescued 11 ducklings from a storm drain and returned them to their worried mother.

News outlets report that concerned citizens recently noticed a mother duck acting upset outside a storm grate because her ducklings were trapped in a drain.

Firefighters were able to get to the storm drain with a ladder and find nearly a dozen fuzzy black-and-yellow ducklings.

The 11 ducklings then scurried away with their relieved mother.
