Cross-Dressing Bank Robber Sought in 3 Pennsylvania Heists

YORK, Pa. (AP) — Police believe the same cross-dressing bank robber is responsible for three heists in central Pennsylvania since October.

The latest occurred Wednesday when the man entered the M&T Bank in Springettsbury Township wearing and orange wig and either a paisley or flowered dress down to his ankles. The black man — about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 — also wore black sneakers and carried a black purse. Witnesses say he appears to be 30 to 40 years old.

York Area Regional Police say the suspect appears to be the same one who robbed banks in York Township in March and October.

The March robbery involved a Wells Fargo branch, while the October heist occurred at a Northwester Savings Bank.
