Police: Man Fatally Shoots Wife, Calls Police to Surrender

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Police say a 64-year-old Henderson man fatally shot his wife, called 911 and waited for officers to arrive.

Henderson police say Dennis Kopp remained on the phone with dispatchers and stood outside until police arrived about 4:45 p.m. Sunday at a home in the Green Valley area.

He’s expected to face a murder charge.

Police say his 62-year-old wife was found mortally wounded in a spare bedroom, and was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Her name wasn’t immediately made public.

Police say they found a handgun inside the home that investigators believe was used in the shooting.
