Tallahassee Police Shoot and Kill Armed Man

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida police say that officers shot and killed a man after exchanging gunfire with him.

The Tallahassee Democrat reported (http://on.tdo.com/29fMqGZ ) that police responded to a home in Tallahassee shortly before 5 a.m. on Thursday after a woman who lived there said there was a man in her front yard with a handgun. Officer David Northway told the newspaper that officers were informed that the man was “suicidal.”

Northway also said that two officers have been placed on administrative leave, which is normal procedure following a shooting involving an officer.

The police department is expected to release more information later Thursday.
