Patriotic Punch (Kid-Friendly… or you can add vodka)
This drink is not only great to look at, it’s delicious!
- any red, white and blue drink
How to: The idea here is the sugar content… the drink with the most sugar should go on the bottom and then work your way up.
Strictly for research purposes I tried this concoction with vodka** and it’s delicious! 😉
**Please drink responsibly.
Sugar Cookie Flags (with fruit & cream cheese icing)
These are soooooo delicious and they are sure to be a hit at your get-together! The key is the homemade icing, and before you freak out… it’s so easy to make!
- sugar cookie mix (+ butter & tbsp water)
- 8 oz Cream cheese (I like the whipped kind)
- 4 Tsp honey
- 4 Tsp lemon juice
- 5 Tbsp powered sugar
- strawberries & blueberries
How to: Follow sugar cookie instructions to make dough, use a square cookie cutter or spatula to make a rectangle shape. Then cook according to package instructions. Meanwhile in a small bowl whip the cream cheese, honey and lemon juice together, then slowly add in the powered sugar. Cover and cool. After the cookies cool, ice them and create your flag design.

Patriotic Mason Jar Lanterns | via addicted2diy.com
Everyone has mason jars lying around, use them as decoration by painting them and putting a tea light on the bottom. They will look beautiful a night!
- mason jars
- stickers (circle, stars, whatever you like)
- painters tape
- paint (red, white & blue)
- votive candles
How to: Place stickers at random on clean mason jar. Paint over the stickers with white. Wait for paint to dry. To create red stripes, place painters tape on jar to cover the white. Paint over the exposed areas in red. Remove tape and stickers and add votive candle in the jar. For the field of blue, paint the jar white. Once dry, place large star stickers randomly around jar. Then paint over the stickers and exposed white with blue paint. Remove stickers and add votive candle in the jar.
Patriotic Vases | via todayscreativelife.com
Possibly the easiest decoration idea ever, plus it’s a new use for food coloring.
- small jars or vases
- red and blue food coloring
- American flags
How to: Fill jars or vases with water. Add red coloring one jar of water and blue to the other. LESS IS MORE. I recommend 1 or 2 drops of food coloring each. Add daisies and a small American flag as decor.
