MELBOURNE, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — A Florida man, who was reportedly high on a synthetic drug called Flakka, is accused of attacking a Brevard officer even after being shocked with a Taser two times.

WKMG reports that 41-year-old Kenneth Crowder also repeatedly claimed he was God and had sex with a tree. Officials responded to reports of a naked man running through the neighborhood performing a sexual act on a tree.

Crowder was arrested on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence and assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer.

Flakka is a new designer drug that appears to be sweeping the nation. Experts say it is even more potent and more addictive than previous synthetic drugs. Flakka can be snorted, smoked or taken orally, and officials say it can cause violent behavior. Some users claim to think they have super-human strength while under the influence of the drug.

An officer approached Crowder, who was fully dressed in jeans and a t-shirt at the time. Police say Crowder came toward the officer in an aggressive manner and repeatedly claimed he was God. The officer responded by tasing Crowder twice, but the suspect took the probes then tried to attack the officer while claiming he was Thor.

Crowder was subdued and handcuffed after other officers arrived on the scene. Officials say use of the bath-salt-like drug may be on the rise.

“We have spoken to some medical professionals here and they are starting to see an increase in its use (in Brevard County),” Melbourne police spokesman Dan Lynch told WKMG.  “It’s already in South Florida, and we think it’s coming here.”

Crowder was booked into the Brevard County Jail Complex and later released after posting bond.
