Ross Tucker: Logan Mankins NOT A Shut Down Guard

Former offensive lineman and NFL analyst Ross Tucker joined Booger and Marc to discuss the Bucs trade for guard Logan Mankins.

Tucker played with Mankins his rookie season and said that he is a bad dude. He’s incredibly strong and brings an edge and a mean streak to the offensive line that every team needs. However, Tucker says that he thinks the Bucs could’ve gotten better value from signing Richie Incognito who is essentially the same type of guard.

Tucker did say that Bucs fans may be disappointed if they think Mankins is going to be a shutdown guard. He’s gotten a little worse in pass protection and isn’t a top offensive lineman like he used to be.

If the offensive line plays well, Tucker thinks the Bucs could be a playoff team.
