On Monday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought in former Dolphins offensive guard Richie Incognito for a visit, causing an uproar amongst Bucs fans and local media. The whirlwind activity at One Buccaneer Place continued today, as the Bucs shored up the offensive guard position by trading for six-time Pro Bowler Logan Mankins from the New England Patriots. In return, Tampa Bay sent tight end Tim Wright and a 2015 4th round pick to the Pats.
Jeff “Pants” Pantridge and the Out of Bounds crew welcomed Pewter Report’s Scott Reynolds to break down what this trade means for the Bucs and their offensive line and why they traded for him instead of signing Incognito. Pants and Scott also talked about head coach Lovie Smith’s philosophy of winning the turnover battle, what Scott has seen from the Bucs’ offense since the start of the preseason, the impact of the team’s running backs in the passing game, what Jeff Demps has to do to make the final roster cut, and Scott also cautions Bucs fans not to get too excited about the team’s convincing win over the Buffalo Bills.
