TAMPA,FL — The trade for All-Pro guard Logan Mankins wasn’t the only roster move at One Buc Place Tuesday. Tampa Bay shed their roster to the NFL mandated 75-player limit for the final week of the preseason by placing cornerback Danny Gorrer on injured reserve. They also waived injured tackle Matt Patchan, tackle J.B. Shugarts, and cornerback Deveron Carr.
The Bucs also claimed two players off waivers, bringing back defensive back Marc Anthony from Tennessee and offensive lineman Jeremiah Warren from Cleveland.
Anthony was on the Buccaneers practice squad in 2013 before being released in the offseason. Warren meanwhile entered the NFL as a college free agent from USF as a New England Patriot in 2012. The 6’3″, 2325 pound lineman has bounced around the league, ending up on the Browns’ practice squad last season.
Tampa Bay will make their final roster cuts following Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Washington Redskins. They must get down to a 53-man roster by 4pm on Saturday, August 30th.
