Police: Florida Man Forced Girlfriend To Help Him Bury Undead Victim

St. Petersburg, Fla. (CBS TAMPA) — A St. Petersburg man beat another man with a BB gun until he believed he was dead before asking his girlfriend to help him bury what turned out to be the undead person, according to police.

Nicholas M. Harris, 20, is being held at Pinellas County Jail after police say he planned to kill the man Monday and forced his girlfriend to help him bury the undead victim, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Harris allegedly hit the victim in the face with a BB gun until he broke his nose and left the man unconscious – but not dead. However, according to police, Harris then threatened his girlfriend to help bury the body and when she refused he threatened to kill her and another witness with a knife. He dragged the victim into a car as his girlfriend and another witness watched.

But after a few hours, the victim woke from the incident and Harris’ mother and brother drove the man to the hospital to be treated for his broken nose and receive stitches.

Harris was charged with first-degree attempted murder and multiple counts of battery, false imprisonment, possessing a firearm as a felon and burglary.
