TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – In an upcoming episode of Untold Stories of the E.R., a pageant mom is featured on the show allegedly forcing her daughter to ingest tapeworms in order to slim down for competition.

Nurse Maricar Cabral-Osorio thought that the teen was pregnant at first when she checked into the emergency room with severe stomach pains. An ultrasound was conducted and showed no fetus, but there was an inexplicable growth in her intestines.

The teenage pageant contestant had to take a trip to the bathroom.

“It was a toilet bowl full of tapeworms,” Cabral-Osorio told UPI. “It was so gross and she had pooped all these tapeworms. There were a couple that were very long and wiggling around trying to get out of the toilet bowl.”

Medical staff wondered how the teen ingested the tapeworms. The mother and daughter allegedly had a fight and the mother bought a pill of tapeworm eggs in Mexico, forcing her daughter to take in order for her to lose weight before a pageant.

“We were wondering how did she get those tapeworms, and then you saw the mom turn white,” Cabral-Osorio told UPI. “The mom was apologizing to the girl. It’s like ‘I’m so sorry. You know, I did it just to make you a little skinnier. You needed some help before we went on to the pageant.'”

It’s not clear when the incident happened or if criminal charges were brought against the mother.
