Through 2 games in the preseason, the Buccaneers have had a lot of positives and negatives to take away, and Pewter Report’s Mark Cook joined Fan Interference to discuss it all.
One of the major positives that Mark has noticed has been the play of the defense and in particular, Gerald McCoy. With everyone harping on the lack of offense, the Buccaneers starting defense to this point has only given up 1 field goal through roughly 3 quarters of play.
This week, players on offense have said that fans and teams have not seen everything that the Jeff Tedford offense can do, and Mark says that you shouldn’t expect to see that this week either. As was the issue in the first game, the entire offense is predicated on the ability of the offensive line to hold their block.
One of the breakout players from last season with the Buccaneers offense was Tim Wright. Last year, he was the favorite target of Mike Glennon, but this camp, Lovie Smith has mentioned the struggles of Wright, and he has also lost playing time to oft-injured Luke Stocker. Stocker has come into camp is fantastic shape, and more importantly, Stocker maybe healthy for the first time in his NFL career.
