(AUDIO) What The SEC Network Means For The Future Of Sports Television

Sports business reporter Krisit Dosh joined Marc Ryan to discuss the impact of the SEC Network on the sports landscape.

Dosh said that there will be a lot of original programming on the SEC Network and there will be a lot of college football and basketball games as well. Dosh said that the SEC Network’s version of College Gameday is the most intriguing part of the new network. Look for SEC fans to dial into that every Saturday morning.

Dosh said that it’s incredible to see how much money the SEC Network gets from cable companies compared to other cable stations like HGTV. The SEC Network will receive something like $1.30 per subscriber while other cable channels that have been around for years only get something like 10 cents. This to Dosh is proof that sports are still driving cable television.
