Scott Reynolds From Pewter Report On When And If The Bucs Will Look for Guard Help

Scott Reynolds and Pewter Report are back on The Fan. Reynolds will join the Booger and Ryan Show every Monday at 4:20pm and Mark Cook will join us on Fridays at 4:20pm.

Reynolds spoke with Booger and Marc today about what he saw from the Bucs first preseason game against the Jaguars.

The Bucs offensive line looked bad Friday night and Reynolds said that the guards are not getting the chemistry that they need to get on a day-to-day basis in practice and it was evident against the Jaguars. Reynolds said he applauds Lovie Smith for benching players and creating competition.

Reynolds said that this second preseason game may determine whether or not the Bucs go out and sign a guard like Alex Boone.

There were some standouts in Friday’s game and Reynolds said Gerald McCoy, Will Gholston and Da’Quan Bowers all looked good on the defensive line. Reynolds said Bowers and his quickness seems to work on the interior of the line.

Reynolds said that Mike Evans may be going through some growing pains. At Texas A&M the offense was as sophisticated as Jeff Tedford’s so it may take time for him to get acclimated to the play calling and the NFL.
