Detention Officer Pulls Out Handgun During Alleged Road Rage Altercation

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — An off-duty detention officer for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon during a traffic altercation in Seffner.

Officials say 54-year-old Reginald Migues and 41-year-old Arthur Langley pulled their vehicles into a parking lot after becoming involved in a road rage incident on Tuesday morning.

An incident report notes that Migues got out of this vehicle, walked toward Langley and pulled out his personal Glock 40-caliber handgun. He chambered a round and pointed the gun at Langley, who got back into his vehicle and called 911. Migues returned to his vehicle and the confrontation ended with no injuries.

Deputies say Migues admitted to pointing the gun at Langley and was arrested. He’s been suspended without pay pending the termination process.
