CBS Sports NFL writer Pete Prisco has been at Bucs camp this week and he joined The Booger and Ryan Show to tell us what’s he’s seen out of Lovie Smith’s team so far.
Prisco said that the Bucs are in the low 20’s as far as power rankings right now, but that could change. Prisco said three major factors will determine how good the Bucs are this season:
1. The play of Josh McCown
2. The guard play (which Prisco said has been bad)
3. The team needs to stay healthy
Prisco said that he doesn’t think the Bucs have the personnel to run a power football offense. He expects them to spread the ball out.
With such a deep backfield, Prisco says he expects the Bucs to have a running by committee approach. He expects Jeff Demps to take some carries away from Doug Martin.
If McCown has an average year, Prisco says they Bucs potential is 8-8.
