Since 2008, the Tampa Bay Rays have been one of the great stories in sports for how they have figured out how to manage to be a above average team that competes year in year out. Yesterday, the Rays were forced to move David Price to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for Nick Franklin, Drew Smyly, and Willie Adames. It’s a move that most people in and around baseball knew was coming, they just weren’t sure when.

In sports, these things goes in cycles. The question today is, did the window for the Tampa Bay Rays close? Is this the beginning of the end for this unbelievable era in Tampa Bay Rays baseball? Can the Rays continue to succeed with their current structure?
