(AUDIO) Bob Nightengale Says the Rays Made a Bad Trade

The Rays moved David Price moments before the end of the trade deadline and Bob Nightengale from USA Today joined Booger and Marc to give his take on the trade.

Nightengale said it almost seemed like the Rays panicked. He said it seemed like they had in their mind on Thursday morning that they were going to trade Price no matter what and they came from ownership. He doesn’t think they got a good package, in fact he even said that the Rays could’ve gotten the same deal in the Winter.

Nightengale said that the Rays sent a bad message to the team by trading Price. It’s tough to get the team motivated when they trade their ace.

Nightengale asked why can’t the Rays do what the A’s are doing? He said he feels bad for Rays fans. If you’re a season ticket holder don’t you want your money back?

As of today, Nightengale said that the Tigers and A’s are the favorites to win the American League.
