NAPLES, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Police are searching for two men who stole close to $1,400 worth of lingerie from two stores last week.
WZVN reported that one man distracted an employee while the other man used a bag to snatch 144 pairs of women’s underwear at the Coastland Center Mall.
One of the stores targeted was Victoria’s Secret Pink store.
“It’s very unusual,” shopper Kelly Ruff told WZVN.
“It’s really weird to hear about guys perusing in something like that,” shopper Tommy Bryant also told WZVN.
He added that he doesn’t understand why two men would want to steal women’s lingerie.
Jodenia Denatos, an employee at the Macy’s store in the mall, shared that she’s uncomfortable with the two men stealing from stores in the mall.
“Wow, I cannot believe it. I’m asking what are they going to do with all those panties?” Denatos asked WZVN. “Now we got to watch over them to watch and see that they’re not going to come to our store and steal because we don’t want that.”
Police believe the two men who stole the lingerie are also the same men seen at the Sunglasses Hut last week, where one of the men snatched a pair of sunglasses.
