(AUDIO) The Soccer Talent in the US is Much Better Than it was 5 Years Ago

Scott Dean from the IMG Academy in Sarasota trains the top soccer youth in the country. He joined Marc Ryan to discuss what he thinks the future of American soccer is and how far the USA can go in a future World Cup.

Dean said that the future of American soccer is exciting and it keeps getting better and better. Domestically the sports is growing and you aren’t seeing top elite players opt for college, instead they’re playing for club teams when they turn 18.

Dean pointed out that a youngster like Julian Green who had a chance to play for Germany’s national team but chose to play for the USA is a sign that the young talent is coming to the states. When you look at the next 4 years, there’s a very good core that will come back.

Dean said there’s no question the soccer talent in the USA is better now than it was 5 years ago.
