(AUDIO) Recent Play Has Made Trading Price Not So Simple

Todd Kalas joined Fan Interference (and his best friend “Lights”) this morning to talk about the sudden turn around for the Tampa Bay Rays. The recent optimism from the road trip has put some of the speculation on hold on if it is time to trade David Price away from the team.

When Price goes to the mound, there is that feeling that he is auditioning for the other 29 teams in the league. However, if the team continues to pitch this way and win games, moving him before the all star break seems unlikely.

The road trip has been a surprise to even some of the guys surrounding the team, so if the Rays can keep this up on the road against the teams ahead of them, the front office will have to evaluate where they stand on the trade market.

One of the things that has helped the Rays with their optimism has been the performance of the teams in front of them. Teams like Toronto and Boston have kept things close to .500 which have made the Rays feel like if they play .600 baseball, they can get back into it.
