(AUDIO) Darren Pang: The Lightning Could Top the Eastern Conference Next Season

Hockey analyst Darren Pang joined Booger and Marc to break down the Lightning’s free agent moves and give his take on what the team will look like next season.

Pang said that the number one thing with evaluating Anders Lindback is that everyone likes him but things may have turned when Lindback didn’t play that well when Ben Bishop got hurt at the end of the season. The opinion may have changed if he would’ve made those big saves.

Evgeni Nabokov however will be a great example for young Lightning players, including those coming up in the Lightning’s minor league system.

Pang said that he really liked the signing of Brian Boyle. He called several of his GM friends during the first day of free agency and was wondering why it took so long for him to be signed. He said if you watched Boyle with the Rangers in the playoffs, he just got better the more games he played.

Finally, Pang said that despite Steve Yzerman telling us that the expectations are just to make the playoffs again, the Lightning’s GM wants more. Pang said that he could easily see the Lightning taking over the Eastern Conference with a healthy Ben Bishop.
