Lightning Trade Gagner And Crombeen To Coyotes

Moments after Sam Gagner was acquired from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Teddy Purcell, Gagner along with BJ Crombeen were sent to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 6th round draft pick in 2015. It appears that Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman is clearing salary to make room for some help on defense.

The Lightning were swept in their first round playoff matchup against the Montreal Canadians and with free agency beginning on July 1st, the Lightning front office seems determined to improve on how the season ended.
