Cops: 2 Girls Used In Burglary, Father Arrested

ANNA MARIA, Fla. (AP) — Police say a 29-year-old Florida man is charged with child neglect after bringing his young children along while stealing from a construction site.

The man was arrested Thursday in Manatee County and his daughters, ages 6 and 8, were placed in the custody of child protective services.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports the man and his friend took the children to a construction site on Thursday evening. The man took the girls into the fenced-off site and had them help carry rebar and wire back to the car, where the friend helped them load the materials into the vehicle.

No further details were immediately available.
